Sakura season

Sakura is a Japanese name for cherry blossom. This is our national flower and everybody loves it. It bloom before leaves come out, so Sakura tree looks like a huge pinkish white bouquet.

Sakura is a flower for Spring, departure and start season for us. March is graduation month and April is a new start both for everyone. Therefore, Sakura is also a merancoric flower for us, reminding us past big farewells.

When blooming season is over, pedals of Sakura blows by wind like snowing, and the ground becomes pink carpet. V. romantic.

Sakura is also edible flower, both flower itself and leaves. The aroma is very nice and sweet, slightly resemble rose.

Sakura season has begun this week in Tokyo area. It forcasted to last about 10 days this year (longer than the average of 1 week). I feel Sakura season is bringing something new and good to me, I hope this comes true...

  1. Sakura's simplicity represents Japanese sence of beauty, I think. They makes people speechless when fully bloom.
